Church of San Michele Arcangelo
3 Via Avv. Leonardo Gallo Calatafimi
See route
This church, which dates back to 1596, originally belonged to the confraternity of Saint Michael the Archangel and for some time housed the remains of the Blessed Arcangelo Placenza of Calatafimi. In 1596, the confraternity granted the church to the Third Order Franciscans, who expanded it and built their convent next to it. The interior of the church is divided into three naves, in neoclassical and baroque style, each with its own portal. The church contains a 16th-century holy water font, a statue of Saint Michael the Archangel from 1490, and several stuccoes and paintings.
